Bubble shipped four things on 6 October 2026, and announced them in a single blog post rather than in its release notes. Three of them are product news. The fourth is a price rise with a deadline eight days from publication, which is the one worth reading first if you are on the web-only Starter plan.
The short version: Agent 2 is out of beta for everyone, a Bubble MCP server is in beta with no request limits on any plan, Agent edits now consume AI credits against a per-plan monthly allowance, and Starter (web-only) moves to $39 a month on 20 October. Bubble is running a double-credit month through 31 October to soften the credit change.
One thing to know before you go looking for the detail yourself: this is not in the release notes. Bubble’s structured feed at bubble.io/releases and its October index both stop at 23 September 2026, and the forum’s New Features category stops in July. The October announcement lives only on the blog and in the monthly community update.
| What changed | Status | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| Agent 2 | Out of beta, all users | Described by Bubble as faster and more accurate. Pinned to the right of the editor, stays pinned as you move between editor tabs, and gains a Preview tab. |
| Bubble MCP | Beta | Point Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP client at your own Bubble app. No request limits on any plan, Free included, and it does not spend your Bubble AI credits. |
| AI credits on Agent edits | Live | Agent iterations now draw down a monthly allowance that varies by plan, from 500 on Free to 4,000 on Team. |
| Starter web-only price | From 20 Oct 2026 | $39/mo monthly, or $32/mo annual. The current annual rate of $29/mo can be locked for a year if you buy annual before the 20th. |
Agent 2 is out of beta, and that is the smaller story
Bubble calls Agent 2 “a faster, more accurate Bubble Agent”, and it is now available to everyone rather than to beta users. The interface changes are modest and sensible: the Agent sits pinned to the right of the editor, it stays pinned as you move between editor tabs instead of collapsing each time, and there is a new Preview tab.
What Bubble does not publish is a benchmark, a comparison against Agent 1, or any figure behind “faster and more accurate”. We are not going to put a number on it either. If you were already using the beta, the thing you will actually notice this month is not the model — it is that your edits now cost credits, which is the next section.
The MCP server is the part worth your afternoon
Bubble has shipped an MCP server in beta, which lets your own AI tooling work against your Bubble app from outside the editor. Bubble’s stated terms are unusually generous, and we are quoting them directly because they matter: “There are no request limits, even on the Free plan. It also doesn’t use your Bubble AI credits, though you may run into usage limits from your provider.”
Read that again in the context of the rest of this post. Bubble has just started metering Agent edits inside its own editor, and simultaneously released an unmetered route to the same app from outside it. If you have a Claude or ChatGPT subscription already, the economics point firmly at the MCP.
What Bubble says it supports today: exploring your app data, cleaning up unused workflows and data fields, and building or editing UI and features. What it says is “still in progress”: reading logs, merging branches and deploying. That last trio is the honest limit on this — you can build through the MCP, but you cannot yet ship through it, so the editor stays in your workflow for release.
Agent edits now cost credits. Here is the allowance.
This is the change that will actually alter how people use Bubble. Agent iterations now consume AI credits, which Bubble includes in every plan at these monthly amounts:
Bubble AI credits included each month, by plan
Agency gets the same allowance as Starter, and a quarter of Team’s.
Source: Bubble’s own announcement of 6 October 2026, read 12 October 2026. Enterprise allowances vary by contract and are not shown. Bubble does not publish how many credits one Agent iteration consumes.
| Plan | Monthly AI credits | Buying more |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 500 | Not available. You must upgrade to Starter to buy credits at all. |
| Starter | 1,000 | Yes, from your App Plan page. |
| Growth | 2,000 | Not stated. |
| Team | 4,000 | Not stated. |
| Agency | 1,000 | Yes, from your App Plan page. |
| Enterprise | Varies | Contact your account manager. |
Two things stand out. Agency gets 1,000 credits — the same as Starter, and a quarter of Team’s — which is an odd place to land a plan sold to people building several apps at once. And the Free tier’s 500 credits come with no way to top up, so Free is now a trial of the Agent rather than a way to use it.
The gap in Bubble’s announcement is the one that decides whether any of these numbers are generous: it does not say how many credits an Agent iteration costs. Until it does, 500 and 4,000 are not budgets, they are just numbers. Test it on your own app before you plan around it.
Double credits until 31 October, with exclusions
To cushion the change, apps that existed on or before 6 October 2026 get double their plan’s usual allowance through 31 October 2026. Standard amounts resume on 1 November.
The exclusions are worth reading because they are broader than the headline suggests: apps created after 6 October do not qualify, nor do new accounts, nor trials, nor any app that changes plan during October. That last one is a genuine trap — upgrading this month to get more credits drops you onto the new plan’s standard allowance instead of its doubled one.
Starter goes up on 20 October, and annual locks the old rate
From 20 October 2026, Bubble’s web-only Starter plan costs $39 a month paid monthly, or $32 a month paid annually. Bubble gives the current annual rate as $29 a month and says that buying annual before the 20th locks that for a year.
| Starter, web-only | Now | From 20 Oct 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Paid annually | $29/mo | $32/mo |
| Paid monthly | Not stated by Bubble | $39/mo |
Existing Starter Web subscribers and anyone on a trial move to the new price at their next renewal, not on the 20th. Bubble states that no other plan’s pricing is affected.
So the decision in front of a Starter user this week is narrow and real: $29 a month locked for twelve months, or $32 from the 20th. That is $36 over a year, which is not life-changing, but it is the only part of this announcement with a clock on it. If you were going to go annual anyway, go annual before the 20th. If you were not, the rise is small enough to ignore.
What we cannot tell you is what you are being moved from on monthly billing, because Bubble does not state the current monthly Starter price anywhere in the announcement. So “$39 is a rise” is Bubble’s framing, not a figure we have checked against a before-and-after.
Who should do what
| If you are… | Do this | By when |
|---|---|---|
| On Starter web-only, paying monthly, planning to stay | Switch to annual at $29/mo to lock it for a year | 19 October 2026 |
| On Free and using the Agent seriously | Expect 500 credits with no top-up. Try the MCP first, since it is unmetered | Now |
| Already paying for Claude or ChatGPT | Wire the Bubble MCP to it and keep your Bubble credits for in-editor work | Now |
| Thinking of upgrading plan this month | Wait until 1 November unless you need the features — changing plan in October forfeits the doubled credits | Before 31 Oct |
| On Growth, Team or Agency | Nothing. No price change, and your credits double this month automatically | — |
What we could not verify
Open questions, stated plainly
- What one AI credit buys. Bubble publishes the allowances but not the cost of an Agent iteration, so none of the credit numbers can be converted into work done.
- The current monthly Starter price. Bubble states the new $39 and the current annual $29, but never the monthly rate being replaced.
- Whether the MCP stays unmetered. “No request limits, even on the Free plan” is a beta term. Bubble gives no commitment about pricing after beta.
- Top-ups on Growth and Team. Bubble names Starter and Agency as able to buy extra credits and says Free cannot. It says nothing either way about Growth or Team.
- Whether existing annual subscribers are affected. Bubble says existing Starter Web users move at next renewal, which implies annual subscribers renew at $32 — but it does not say so explicitly.
- Agent 2 against Agent 1. No benchmark, no error rate, no latency figure. “Faster and more accurate” is unquantified.
All figures above were read off Bubble’s own 6 October 2026 announcement and its pricing pages on 12 October 2026. Bubble published this on its blog and in its monthly community update, not in its release notes, which still stop at 23 September 2026 — so if you are checking our figures against bubble.io/releases you will not find them there. If anything changes materially, this post gets a dated update box rather than a silent edit.
Frequently asked questions
What did Bubble announce on 6 October 2026?
Four things in one blog post: Agent 2 leaving beta for all users, a Bubble MCP server in beta, AI credits now being consumed by Agent edits with a per-plan monthly allowance, and a price rise for the web-only Starter plan taking effect on 20 October 2026. A double-credit promotion running to 31 October was announced alongside them.
Does the Bubble MCP server use my AI credits?
No. Bubble’s wording is that there are no request limits, even on the Free plan, and that it does not use your Bubble AI credits — though you may still hit usage limits from whichever AI provider you connect. Note that this is a beta term and Bubble has not said what happens to it after beta.
How many AI credits does my Bubble plan include?
Per month: Free 500, Starter 1,000, Growth 2,000, Team 4,000, Agency 1,000, and Enterprise varies by contract. Starter and Agency users can buy more from the App Plan page; Free users cannot buy credits at all and have to upgrade to Starter first. Bubble does not publish what a single Agent iteration costs, so these figures cannot yet be translated into how much building they actually buy.
When does Bubble Starter go up, and can I avoid it?
The web-only Starter plan moves to $39 a month monthly, or $32 a month annually, on 20 October 2026. The current annual rate is $29 a month, and Bubble says buying annual before the 20th locks that rate for a year. Existing Starter Web subscribers and trials move to the new price at their next renewal rather than on the 20th.
Do I get double AI credits in October 2026?
Only if your app existed on or before 6 October 2026. Apps created after that date, new accounts and trials are excluded, and so is any app that changes plan during October — changing plan drops you onto the new plan’s standard allowance instead of a doubled one. Standard amounts resume on 1 November 2026.
Is any of this in Bubble’s release notes?
No. At the time of writing, bubble.io/releases and the October release-notes index both stop at 23 September 2026, and the forum’s New Features category stops in July 2026. The announcement exists only on Bubble’s blog and in its monthly community update.
