Murf AI Pricing 2026: Studio, API and Dubbing Costs, Worked Out Per Minute

Murf sells three different products from one pricing page — a Studio editor for voiceovers, a developer API, and a pay-per-minute Dub service — and each is priced in a different unit: hours per year, dollars per thousand characters, and credits per minute per language. That makes the obvious question, “what does a minute of Murf audio actually cost me?”, surprisingly hard to answer from the page itself. So we worked it out.
The short answer
Making voiceovers yourself, under two hours a month: Studio Creator at $19 a month on annual billing. It works out around 16 cents per finished minute if you use your whole allowance.
Comfortable writing a little code: the API is the bargain on this page. Falcon costs $0.01 per 1,000 characters — under a cent per minute on our estimate — and Murf adds $10 of free credit every month.
Translating videos you already have: Dub costs $0.50 per minute per language. A 10-minute video into three languages is $15.
A team of editors: read the seat limits first. Creator and Business both allow one editor seat. More than one means Enterprise.
Murf Studio pricing in 2026
Studio is the browser editor most people picture when they think of Murf: paste a script, pick voices, adjust pitch and emphasis, sync to video and export. It is priced by voice generation time, which Murf quotes per year on annual plans.

What Business adds over Creator, beyond four times the hours: 500 projects instead of 100, audio-to-text transcription (48 hours a year), emphasis and variability controls, “Say It My Way”, the PowerPoint and Google Slides plugins, and Murf voices for Windows apps. AI translation, SSO, shared projects and viewer seats are all Enterprise-only.

Murf API pricing: the cheapest audio on the page
The API tab is where Murf is quietly generous. There is no subscription: you get $10 of free credit every month with no card required, then pay as you go for whatever you use beyond it. Purchased credit never expires.

What a minute of Murf audio actually costs
To compare Studio hours with API characters you need a conversion. Ours: a normal narration pace of about 150 words a minute, at roughly six characters per word once you count spaces and punctuation, gives about 900 characters per minute of speech. Slow, careful e-learning narration will use fewer; fast promo reads more. Treat these as estimates, not quotes.

Two things stand out. First, the API’s free $10 each month buys a million Falcon characters — around 18 hours of speech on our conversion, or about six hours at Gen2 rates. The Studio free plan, by contrast, is ten minutes, once. Second, even paying full rate, Falcon is well over ten times cheaper per minute than a Studio subscription.
That does not make the API the right answer for everyone. You pay the Studio premium for the editor itself: timeline syncing with video, per-word pitch and emphasis controls, stock media, the Canva, PowerPoint and Slides integrations, and not having to write code. If you produce a few narrated videos a month, that is worth $19. If you are generating audio inside your own app or pipeline, it is not. Murf Dub pricing
Dub is billed separately, on credits: 2 credits per minute of video per target language. Murf’s own calculator prices 10 minutes into one language at $5, and 60 minutes into three languages (360 credits) at $90 — which makes each credit $0.25 and each dubbed minute $0.50 per language.
For context, extra dubbing minutes on ElevenLabs cost $2.23–$2.70 each on our last check, and its subscriptions include only a few minutes. Quality and voice-matching differ, so this is not a like-for-like verdict — but on list price, Murf’s dubbing is several times cheaper per minute. Four things the pricing page does not make obvious
- The free Studio plan is ten minutes in total. It is a trial allowance, not a monthly refill, and it carries no commercial rights. This is the most common complaint we see about Murf.
- One editor seat on Creator and on Business. The $66 plan is not a team plan. If two people need to edit projects, you are talking to sales about Enterprise.
- Commercial rights are not the same as a business licence. Creator lets you use voiceovers commercially; the separate business licence starts at Business. If you produce client work or corporate content, read the licence terms before choosing Creator.
- The $19 price needs a year up front. Month to month, Creator is $29.

The verdict
Murf’s Studio pricing is fair but unremarkable: $19 a month for two hours of edited voiceover is in line with the category, and the single editor seat on Business is a real limitation for teams. The genuinely good deal is hidden one tab over. The API’s monthly $10 credit and $0.01-per-thousand Falcon rate make it one of the cheapest ways to generate professional-sounding speech in 2026 — provided you are willing to work without the editor.
