Hostinger published its Week 40 update this morning, covering what shipped in the week of 28 September to 2 October 2026. Five things landed, and one of them comes with money attached — though not Hostinger’s money, which is the part worth reading carefully.

The Google Ads credit: whose money it is

This is the headline, and it is the one most likely to be reported wrong. Hostinger’s wording, verbatim:

“New accounts also get a bonus: spend $500 on ads in your first 60 days, and Google adds $500 in ad credit to your account balance.”

— Hostinger, weekly product updates: Week 40, 2026

Read that again: Google adds the credit, not Hostinger. This is Google’s standard new-advertiser promotion, surfaced through Hostinger’s integration. It is not a Hostinger discount, it is not stackable with your hosting price, and it requires you to spend $500 of your own money inside 60 days before any credit appears. If you were not going to spend $500 on Google Ads anyway, this is worth nothing to you. If you were, it is worth exactly $500.

What the integration itself does, per Hostinger: connect an existing Google Ads account or create a new one using Google’s OAuth sign-in, then “launch a Google Ads campaign for any website built with Hostinger, with headlines and images generated automatically with AI”, and track “ad performance, traffic, and spend right in hPanel”.

Worth noting for anyone tracking Hostinger closely: the Google Ads integration is the one Week 40 item that does not appear on Hostinger’s changelog. The changelog carried the WhatsApp, MCP and email-import items on 28 September; Google Ads shows up only in the blog write-up. If you follow the changelog alone, you would have missed it.

WhatsApp campaigns in Reach

Hostinger Reach was an email marketing tool. It now has a second channel: “Hostinger Reach now supports WhatsApp as a marketing channel, alongside email.”

How it works, as documented

  • Start from a dedicated WhatsApp landing page and connect a WhatsApp Business Account directly inside Reach.
  • A new message editor builds templates; a template list keeps reusable ones organised.
  • Send by picking a template and recipients, reviewing, and sending.
  • A campaign list and details view track what is sent and ongoing; account settings manage the WhatsApp Business Account connection.
  • Hostinger notes you must “first connect WhatsApp and complete the Meta setup” — so there is a Meta-side approval step before anything sends.

The practical appeal is obvious: WhatsApp open rates make email look tired, and keeping both channels in one tool beats bolting a second platform onto your stack. The practical catch is the Meta Business approval process, which Hostinger does not describe and which is not instant.

The MCP change matters more than it sounds

Buried as item three is the change most likely to affect anyone running an AI agent against their hosting. Verbatim:

“Hostinger MCP now exposes three tools instead of one entry per API operation: search finds the Hostinger operations relevant to a task, execute runs a single operation, and multi-execute runs several operations in one request.”

— Hostinger, Week 40, 2026

Hostinger states nothing is removed — “The full set of Hostinger operations is still reachable through these three tools” — and that bundled skills now ship with the MCP server to guide the assistant on which operation to pick once search returns results.

Their stated reason is the interesting part, and it is a real engineering problem rather than marketing: “a long list of individual operations eats up context and raises the chance the agent picks the wrong one.” Anyone who has pointed Claude or ChatGPT at an MCP server with eighty tools has felt exactly this. Hostinger’s answer — collapse the surface, add a search step, ship skills to guide selection — is the pattern the whole MCP ecosystem is converging on.

If you have an agent wired to Hostinger MCP, this is a breaking change in shape even though no capability was removed. Prompts or scripts that named a specific operation tool directly will need to go through search and execute instead.

The two small ones

Email import from a file. “You can now import emails into Hostinger Email from a file.” If you have a backup as .eml files, import them through webmail: log in, Settings, Email Import, Import emails. Multiple .eml files can be packed into a single .zip. The changelog adds a detail the blog does not: you choose whether they land in the inbox or another folder.

QR-code phone preview in AI Builder. When a site goes live for the first time, the success screen now offers “Quick look on your phone” — a QR code you scan to open the published site on a phone or tablet without typing the address. Small, but it removes the most annoying step in the build-and-check loop.

What was genuinely new this week

Hostinger runs two streams, and they overlap. The changelog logs releases as they land; the weekly blog tells the story a few days later. For Week 40 that means:

ItemOn the changelogIn the Week 40 blog
WhatsApp campaigns in Reach28 September5 October
MCP three-tool interface28 September5 October
Email import from files28 September5 October
Google Ads integrationNot listed5 October
AI Builder QR previewNot listed5 October

So if you read the changelog on 28 September you already had three of the five. The two genuinely new items in this blog post are the Google Ads integration and the QR preview. Hostinger’s changelog also logged several items the blog skips entirely this week, including Node.js environment-variable detection on Web Hosting, email conversation threading in Hostinger Mail, and multi-intent handling in Hostinger Agent.

What this costs

None of the Week 40 items carry a price of their own, and Hostinger does not state which plan any of them requires. What you are actually paying for is the hosting underneath. These are the live shared-hosting prices read from Hostinger’s India site on 5 October 2026:

PlanPromotionalListBest for, per Hostinger
Single₹69/mo₹399/mo“Get your first website online. Best for beginners or simple projects.”
Premium₹149/mo₹599/mo—
Business₹249/mo₹699/mo—

The promotional price requires a 48-month commitment. Those ₹69, ₹149 and ₹249 figures are the 48-month term with 83% off applied, not a monthly rolling rate. You pay the full term up front and the price reverts at renewal. That is the normal shape of budget hosting pricing, but a headline “₹69/mo” is a four-year decision, and it is worth saying so out loud. Hostinger offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Prices differ by region. The figures above are from the India storefront; check Hostinger’s pricing for your own.

Who should care

Worth your attention if

  • You already run campaigns. WhatsApp plus email in Reach removes a tool from your stack, and the Google Ads integration removes a tab.
  • You were going to spend on Google Ads anyway. $500 of matched credit is real money for a budget you had already committed.
  • You point an AI agent at your hosting. The three-tool MCP is the single most useful change here, and nobody is writing about it.
  • You are migrating email in. The .eml / .zip import removes the usual reason migration stalls.

Not worth changing anything for if you do not use Reach, do not advertise, and do not run agents. This is an incremental week — a good one, but incremental. Nothing here is a reason to switch host.

Frequently asked questions

What did Hostinger ship in Week 40 of 2026?

Five things, covering the week of 28 September to 2 October 2026: a Google Ads integration in the Hostinger Dashboard, WhatsApp marketing campaigns in Hostinger Reach, a three-tool interface for Hostinger MCP, email import from .eml and .zip files in Hostinger Email, and a QR-code phone preview for newly published Hostinger AI Builder sites.

Is the $500 Google Ads credit from Hostinger?

No. Hostinger’s wording is that you “spend $500 on ads in your first 60 days, and Google adds $500 in ad credit to your account balance.” The credit comes from Google, not Hostinger, it applies to new accounts, and it only arrives after you have spent $500 of your own money within 60 days. It is not a hosting discount.

Can Hostinger send WhatsApp marketing campaigns now?

Yes. Hostinger Reach supports WhatsApp alongside email. You connect a WhatsApp Business Account inside Reach, build reusable message templates, then send campaigns to selected recipients and track them from a campaign list. Hostinger notes you must connect WhatsApp and complete the Meta setup first.

What changed with Hostinger MCP?

Hostinger MCP now exposes three tools — search, execute and multi-execute — instead of one tool per API operation. No operations were removed; they are all reachable through those three. Hostinger’s stated reason is that a long tool list consumes context and increases the chance an AI agent picks the wrong operation. Bundled skills now ship with the server to guide selection.

How much does Hostinger cost in October 2026?

On the India storefront, read 5 October 2026: Single is ₹69/mo promotional against a ₹399 list price, Premium ₹149/mo against ₹599, and Business ₹249/mo against ₹699. Those promotional rates are the 48-month term with 83% off and revert at renewal. There is a 30-day money-back guarantee. Prices vary by region.

Which Hostinger plan do I need for WhatsApp campaigns in Reach?

Hostinger does not state this in the Week 40 announcement, and the Reach pricing page did not render readable plan gating when we checked on 5 October 2026. Confirm inside your own account before planning around it.

What we could not verify

Open questions, stated plainly

  • Which plans gate any of this. Hostinger names no plan requirement for the Google Ads integration, WhatsApp in Reach, or the MCP change. The Reach pricing page is JavaScript-rendered and returned no readable plan table when we checked.
  • The Google Ads credit’s full terms. Hostinger states the $500 spend and 60-day window and nothing else. Google’s own promotional terms normally carry further eligibility conditions by country and account age; read them at Google before counting on the credit.
  • What the Meta setup involves. WhatsApp Business Account approval is a Meta process, not a Hostinger one, and neither the time it takes nor its requirements are described.
  • Whether existing MCP integrations break. Hostinger says no capability was removed, but says nothing about backward compatibility for agents that called named operation tools directly.
  • Regional pricing beyond India. We read one storefront. Hostinger prices differ by country and we have not checked the others.

All quotations are taken verbatim from Hostinger’s Week 40 2026 product update and its public changelog, and the plan prices from Hostinger’s India web hosting page, all read on 5 October 2026. Hostinger publishes its changelog continuously and its weekly blog a few days behind; if either changes materially, this post gets a dated update box rather than a silent edit.
